Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast developes on the Peninsular territory between the Gulf of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno, from Vietri sul Mare and beyond Positano.
A perfect marriage between sea and mountains, rich in coves and bays, often reachable only by sea such as the beautiful Grotta dello Smeraldo at Conca dei Marini and the Fiordo di Furore.
The territory is strongly steep, sometimes with sheer cliffs: an uncontaminated nature, (visit the Oasis of Vallone di Porto, three km away from Positano) Spectacular landscapes drive the tourist to a contemplative rapture. The Divine Coast boasts also the glorious history of the Republic of Amalfi, its monuments, the terraced lemon – orchards and vineyards. The inhabitants draw inspiration from this landscape and creates beautiful handcraft products: the famous hand – made paper, the ceramics, the hampers made with the chestnut wood, the wrought iron and the “Moda Positano”.
Thirteen villages of the Peninsula of Amalfi are placed on the Lattari mountainside of Salerno: Positano, Praiano, Furore, Conca dei Marini, Amalfi, Ravello, Scala, Tramonti, Atrani, Minori, Maiori, Cetara e Vietri sul Mare.
